Roseville Resident Spotlight: Meet Gene

Tell us about yourself?

I am ninety two years old, married sixty years, five children and several greats and great-grands. I had been living in an apartment adjoining the nursing home where my wife spent her last five years of her life. Following her death, I had a lot of time on my hands with little to do. After a visit to Cherrywood Pointe, I knew I had found exactly what I wanted. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment in a community big enough to provide multiple services, a lot of activities, great friends yet small enough so that I feel at home.

How are you adjusting so far?

Adjusting has not been a problem for me. I was happy with Cherrywood Pointe from the moment I moved in.

What is your favorite part about living at Cherrywood Pointe of Roseville?

The surroundings-wooded area, paved walking path around a small lake and nature. But there are many other factors which are equally enjoyable, the staff with their upbeat attitude is outstanding. The community itself has so much to offer: spacious sitting areas, fun activities which I have experienced before but feel Cherrywood Pointe is just a step above others.

Was it a good choice to move during the Covid-19 Pandemic?

Covid brought a lot of stress into all our lives. Cherrywood Pointe offered a solution for me with the opportunity to enjoy the quiet and serene atmosphere that is not found in the inner city.  I am glad I made the move to Cherrywood Pointe of Roseville.

Any suggestions for people thinking about moving into Cherrywood Pointe of Roseville?

Come and visit! See it for yourself, think about the future, this was a big factor in my decision to move into Cherrywood Pointe. Had I stayed in my former location, when I needed extra help I would have had to move to another building. As my needs increase at Cherrywood Pointe I can stay in my apartment and the extra help comes to me with out moving.
